Prescott Weather & Climate
Enjoyable and warm for the majority of the year, although
temperatures can dip low in the high winter months of December and January, the average temperatures range from 65-85 degrees from October through April.
Since Prescott is at an elevation of roughly 5000 feet our temperatures remain more moderate. When those in lower
elevations are experiencing summer temperatures well above 100 degrees, Prescott is typically 15-20 degrees cooler.
Although we do experience all four seasons, from sun and heat to snow and cold, these seasons are typically moderate
and short-lived. We enjoy well-rounded temperatures! It is not uncommon for us to hit 50-65 degrees during the
day in the height of the winter months, nor 75 to 80 degrees in the hot summer months.
The uniquely varied, but mild terrain consists of pinion and juniper studded hills interspersed with boulder formations and rugged canyons along with several small lakes and streams. Aspen, cottonwood, oak and maple grow along with one of the largest contiguous forest of Ponderosa pines in the nation. The relatively short winters in Prescott bring occasional snows which usually melt after a few hours of sunshine. Spring brings the typical variable weather, alternating between sun and rain within a few hours, and introducing beautiful color and freshness. Summers are warm, mostly sunny with occasional rain showers. July and August usually bring in Prescott’s monsoon season, bringing cooler temperatures.Daytime mountain breezes keep the temperature from reaching the scorching highs of the lower lying desert areas in Arizona. Summer evenings often bring spectacular sunsets and a delightful coolness to the end of a summer day.
